Dutch Shutlz
Dutch Shultz
Shultz was born in 1902 and was raised in New York. He turned to violence and crime at a young age and was viewed as the most violent and short-tempered person around.
In 1928 he was hired by gangster Joey Noe, and the two became bootleggers. They supplied to all of the Bronx, and ran the only non-Italian gang that rivaled to get a spot in the Five Families of New York. After Joey Noe was gunned down years later outside the Chateu Madrid on 54th street, Shultz moved to Harlem. There he continued his life of crime. In addition to his previous "busieness ventures" Shultz had the lottery fixed by an accountant he hired, and he extorted many restaurant owners.
Shultz was shot and killed on October 23, 1945. Shortly before his death, in fear of being incarcerated, he ordered for the construction of an airtight, waterproof safe to hold his seven million dollars. The safe has never been found.
